There was a post about the silverleaf one (sounds like a bad combo of the Crystal leaf and Silverdrop inns ), but I always go to the one in Hollygrove.

Anyone else interested in going? They're august through september, which means I have a much better chance of being able to make it. Assuming I can convince my parents that I should be able to it without them (they have always taken me), and that you Achaean peoples aren't going to steal me away or something, I'd like to go up a weekend and hang out with some of you guys, and what better place than somewhere people walk around in doublets and wear swords and stuff?

We go every year, sometimes several weekends depending on schedules and stuff. Awesome idea!

I'll have a look at the weekends and talk with me hubby and post again.

Any of the ones gabrar said would be good, probably. I still need to convince my parents that meeting random people I met on an online mud is a good idea, but hopefully they'll let me. Not that I can't just drive up there anyway, but they DO still pay part of my tuition, so I like ot keep them informed.

I'd personally prefer the September dates seeing as a friend of mine will also be in Chicago in late August for a cousin's wedding and Gabbers and I could meet up with her and her s.o.... but generally this sounds like fun.

Edit: Lereas, my parents also pay for me (we don't have tuition but they pay for just about everything else ) and they still don't know when and where Gabbers and I actually met for the first time.
Figured hopping on a plane to London for a day and a half, a few days before a set of major (like your bachelor's) exams, to meet someone I only knew over the internet was below the cutoff on the List Of Things To Share With Them

I'd stay with them friday night, go to the fest saturday, stay back at home saturday night, and drive home sunday, most likely.

And strangely enough, my dad said "sure, why wouldn't we let you". Generally, my parents are like "meet people you met online and don't know too well? Hell no".

My reason for going is to meet up with some people who confine their fantasies to the computer and we are all going to laugh at the tight wearing weirdos."

I just looked at a map and there is a goodsized (Caesar Creek State Park) lake there. Anyone know if they have boat rentals? It isn't obvious on the web. They do mention unrestricted horsepower though.

Also, who all will be staying overnight either the night before or the night after the meetup.? Depending on the weather, I think that a state park and a couple of coolers of various adult and pre-adult beverages might be in order.
